Helgemo & Liou Pediatrics is pleased to announce the addition of Emily Sears to our office. Having grown up in Long Island, New York, Emily moved to Florida ten years ago. Since childhood, Emily was inspired to enter the world of pediatrics. She states, “I always wanted to go into a profession that helped people, especially kids. I volunteered at a summer camp for children with serious illnesses and it was such a rewarding experience. The resilience the kids showed after facing extreme health challenges at such a young age was so inspiring.” Emily continues, “Ever since then, I knew pediatric nursing was going to be the best path for me. After working as a nurse for pediatric patients in the hospital, I wanted to further my education and become a nurse practitioner so I could build lasting relationships with my patients and their families.” According to Emily, what she loves most about pediatrics is working with children: “Kids are so much fun and I love their honesty and sense of humor. My patient encounters are the highlight of my day and always provide such great memories!” In her spare time, Emily loves spending time outside, doing yoga, shooting film photography, and hanging out with her husband, family and friends.
